Office Assistant

Expat Child Psychology has a vision of creating a better world by helping international children thrive. We are looking for an ambitious office assistant that can support us achieve our goals.

What?
The office assistant will be asked to perform a variety of task, including taking phone calls and responding to emails, managing the schedules of the psychologists, updating and archiving client information, maintaining the financial administration, assistance with digital marketing, research and networking, and more.

The position will be for 3-5 hours a week initially, on a flexible basis. The hours will be divided over 3-5 days a week in order to provide consistency in the communication to our (potential) clients. There is potential to increase the contract to approximately 10 hours a week within the first half year. The successful candidate will be employed through a payroll construction. The successful candidate will work from our main office in The Hague (our main location might change to a more central location in The Hague in the next few months) and may be able to work from home up to 50% of the time.

– who is able to handle responsibility and take initiative,
– who has great organizing skills,
– who speaks and writes fluent English
– who is currently allowed to work in the Netherlands

Our preference goes to someone who will be flexible to work with us in shaping this function as the demand and scope of our work changes in the next few years. Knowledge of Dutch and previous work experience in similar functions is desirable, but affiliation to our vision and goals is more important.

Psychological Internships

We currently have a vacancy for a clinical internship for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Who?
We are looking for someone:
– Who studies for their MSc. in child & adolescent psychology, MSc. in developmental psychology or MSc. educational and child studies (or related studies).
– Who speaks and writes fluent English and basic Dutch
– Who is flexible; the hours/days that can be spent towards the internship will vary from week to week.

What:
We offer an internship for the duration of 1 academic year, averaging 2 days a week (20 ECTS). Tasks may include:
– Joining & taking part in intakes and parenting consultations
– Report writing
– Assisting in writing treatment plans
– Co-trainer of Social Skills 4 Kids group courses
– Assisting in the promotional efforts of the practice, including writing blog posts
– Joining assessments & practicing administering psychodiagnostic tests. At this time it is unlikely a BAPD can be obtained during the internship.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, it will not be possible for an intern to join our individual therapy sessions with our underage clients on a regular basis. However, we will include the intern when possible and will attempt to make video records of some of our sessions for the intern to review and reflect on.
